# Token Launch

### The Basics

ARDA is an ERC-20 token that will be used both as a means to **aggregate financial resources** to deploy into the real world and also as a **governance tool**. ARDA share tokens can be traded between peers on both centralized and decentralized exchanges, however our intention is that global citizens seeking to join the Arda ecosystem intend to hold onto their ARDA share tokens as a **commitment to changemaking**.

The total supply of ARDA share tokens at launch will be **10,000,000,000**.

This figure is based on the **Net Indicator Value (NIV)** of **$1,00,000,000** stemming from the Arda Index base year 2021 value of 100. As a refresher, the Arda Index is derived from the sum of the 2021 scores for each of the six indicators weighted equally and indexed in base year 2021 to base 100.

The value of an ETF share is found by dividing the NAV by the number of outstanding shares. The same is true for the Arda StableETF. The price peg that will be maintained until the inclusion of new data will therefore be **USD 0.10**

### Distribution

The 10 Billion ARDA share tokens at launch will be allocated as detailed below:
